Know all men by these Presents that I Light Townsend of 
Alachua County Florida, in Consideration of the Sum of Three
hundred dollars $300 to me in hand paid by A.E. Gieger, do hereby
grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the Said A.E. Gieger his
heirs and asigns, a certain tract of land Situate in Said County
, Known according to the Plat of the Survey of the Same by the
United States of America as the East half of the South East 
Quarter of Section Twenty Seven in Township No Eight South of 
Range No Eighteen, containing Seventy nine acres, and Seventy 
six hundredths, together with all the priviledges, and apper-
nances to the said tract of land in any wise appurtaining and
belonging To have and to hold the above granted land and Prem
ises unto the said A.E.Gieger his heirs and asigns to his and
their own use and behoof forever, And I the said Light Townsend
for myself , my heirs, Executors administrators, do covenant 
with the Said A.E. Gieger, his heirs, and asigns, that I am law-
fully Seized in fee of the aforegranted premises, that they are
free from all incumbrances, that i have the right to sell and
convey to the Said A.E. Gieger as aforesaid, and that I will, and
my heirs, Executors, and administrators, Shall warrant and de-
fend the same to the said A.E. Gieger, his heirs, and asigns for-
ever, against the lawful of all persons.
     In testimony whereof I the said Light Townsend have here-
unto set my hand and seal this 4th day of December, 1848

signed Clerk of the Circuit Court for the Counties of Alachua &
Levy, Calvin Bryan whose name appears to the foregoing instru-
ment of writing as a witness, and made oath in due form of law,
and said that he saw Light Townsend Execute the same for the 
purposes therein expresed
