The people of the State of New York: By the grace of God Free and Independent,
To all whom these Presents shall come, or may concern, send greetings
Kno ye that at Proughkeepsie, in the County of Dutchess, on the third
day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three
before
Robert Wilkinson, Esquire, Surrogate of said county, the last Will and Testament and
codicil thereto of Nehemiah Brush late of the Town of Fishkill in the County of
Dutchess deceased, which will and codicil is herewith annexed, was proved and is
now proved
and allowed by us, over the said Testator at or immediately previous to his death
being an inhabi-
tant of, or having left assets which then were, or have since come within the
County of Dutchess,
by reason whereof the proving and registering of the said will and the granting,
administration of all and singular the goods
chattles and credits of the said Testator, and also the auditing, allowing,
and final discharging the account thereof, doth
belong unto the Surrogate of the said County: the administration of all and
singular the goods, chattles, and credits
of the said deceased, and any way concerning the said will, is granted unto
Charles W. Brush in conjunction with
Eugene Van Ness (the other executor, John H. Brush being dead) to whom letters
have heretofore been granted
and honestly to discharge the duties of such Executor; hereby giving to you
full power by these presents, to administer
and faithfully dispose of all and singular the goods, and chattles, and credits
to ask, demand, recover,
and reserve the debts which unto the said deceased whilst living, and at the time
his death, did belong, and to pay
the debts which the said deceased did own, as far as such goods, chattles, and
credits will thereto extend
and the law require, hereby requireing you to make, or cause to be made, a true
and perfect inventory of
all and singular the goods, chattles, and credits, of the said deceased within
a reasonable time, and return
a duplicate thereof, to our Surrogate of the County of Dutchess within three
months from the date of these
presents, and if further personal property or assets of any kind of the now
deceased, not mentioned in any inventory that
shall have been made, shall come to your possession or knowledge, to make, or
cause to be made, in like manner,
a true and perfect inventory, and return the same within two months after
the delivery thereof, and also to render
a just and true account of your administration when thereunto required.
In testamony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said
surrogate to be hereunto affixed.

County, do certify, that on this third day of October in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three the last will and
Testament and Codicil thereto of Nehemiah Brush late of the
Town of Fishkill in said County, deceased, has been duly proved
according to the provisions of the Statutes in such case made and
provided as the last will and Testamentand Codicil of the real
and personal estate of said deceased, which said last will and Testa-
ment and codicil and the proofs and examinations taken thereon,
are recorded in this office.
