NOW THEREFORE KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS That
I Eugene Van Ness of Washington, District of Columbia
have especially made and appointed, and by these
presents do specially make and appoint the said
Charles W. Brush, my Co Executor aforesaid my true
and lawful attorney in the Execution of the said
Executorship and Clothe him with the same power
that I would possess if acting con- jointly with
him to execute and deliver for me all deed and
their papers necessary in the Execution of said
trust ** so that all his acts done by virtue of this
power in and about the matter relating to the
Estate of the said N. Brush decd. may have the
same and like effect as of done jointly by us
or executors aforesaid, and be do in all and every respect
the same as if I myself were acting with him
Hereby ratifying and conforming all my co-
executor may do by reason hereof

authority to take acknowledgement or proofs of
all deeds or other instruments in writing, depositions
and other testimony &C &C in and for the state of New
York, to be used in said state of Florida duly com-
missioned by said Governor and affirmed and
dwelling in the City of New York Do by this public
Instrument certify deed make Known that on the 17
day of March 18 one thousand eight hundred and
forty eight before me personally appeared in my
state aforesaid Eugene Van Ness the signer
and sealer of the annexed instrument bearing
date the 1st day of January 1847 who acknowledged
