And referred the proceedings to the said Surveyer General
to make the plan of the said Grant in informity to his
report and to the extent aforesaid that the plan aforesaid
being presented by the said Surveyer General together with
explanations of the Survey and administrations it appeared
that the said tract of Land is Situate in East Florida a parcel
of fifty miles west of the place of St. Augustine and about
thirty Six miles west of the Eastern Shore of San Juan river
bounded on all sides by unappropriated lands having for its centre
the Plan of Alachua and containing Five hundred and Eighty
nine thousand Six hundred and forty five English acres and five
sevenths of an acre, and which said title after the recitals above
mentioned containing in substance that the said Intendant
did in the name of the King and in the exercise of the power
conferred by him upon the said Intendant gratuitously grants unto
the said Don Fernando de la maza Arredondo & Son (the parties
hereto of the first part) the said tract of Land as particularly
described on the said Plan and Survey as by reference to the said
grant will more fully and particularly appear.
And Whereas the said Parties of the first Part are desirous to
convey to the said parties of the second Part in trust for the
associates of a certain unincorporated Company recently formed
in the said City of New York and Known by the name
of the Florida Association Thirty Thousand Seven hundred
and twenty acres of the above mentioned tract granted as aforesaid.
Now therefore this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Parties
of the first Part for and in consideration of the sum of
Forty five thousand dollars of lawful money of the United States
to them in hand Paid at and before the delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have granted, bargained,
Sold, aliened, released, conveyed, and confirmed and by these presents
do grant, bargain, sell, alien, release, convey, and confirm unto
the said parties of the second Part and the Survivors and
Survivior of them, their or his and assigns forever thirty thousand
Seven hundred and twenty Acres of Land in the tract of
land herein before mentioned and described and to be Part
and Parcel thereof, the said thirty thousand Seven hundred
and twenty Acres to be located and determined in manner
following, the said first mentioned tract of two hundred
and sixty nine thousand Six hundred and forty five acres
and five sevenths of an acre to be surveyed and decided
