         To                         Sheriffs Deed
William Marvin
     This indenture made the first day of May in the Year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and forty eight between Thomas C. Ellis
Sheriff of the County of Alachua and State of Florida of the first
part and William Marvin of the city of Key West and County
of Monroe in the State of Florida of the second part, Whereas at
a court of Chancery held for the Eastern Circuit of Florida on
the twenty fifth day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred
and forty seven before the Hon Thomas Douglas Judge of the
Eastern Circuit of Florida at St. Augustine in the County of St. Johns
to which county the hearing of said cause had been transferred
by consent of parties, it was among other things ordered adjudged
and decreed by the said Court in a certain cause there
depending in said Court between William Marvin & Noah M.
Martin complainant and Richard H. Bradford administrator
of Leigh Read deceased and other defendants that in case of the
non payment of the same thereby decreed to be due to the said
complainant William Marvin in the sixty days from the date
of said decree the said premises mentioned and described
in the Bill of Complaint should be sold by and under the dir-
ection of the Sheriff of the County of Alachua by virtue of said
decree and under the same notice and advertisement as
required by law in cases of sales of real Estate upon Judge-
ments and executions at Law, And whereas the said Sheriff
and party of the first party to these presents in pursuance
of the order and decree of the said Court of Chancery
did on the day of the date of these presents sell at public
auction at Newnansville in the County of Alachua before
the Court House Door of said County the premises herein
after described having first given public notice of the time
and place of such sale with a brief description of the said premises
having first given public notice of the time and place of
such sale, agreeable to the order aforesaid, at which sale
the said premises were struck off to the said party of the
second part to these presents for the sum of Eight Hundred
Dollars that being the highest sum bidden for the same
                 And this Indenture  Witnesseth that
the said Thomas C. Ellis Sheriff as aforesaid and party of
these presents in order to carry into effect the said sale
so made as aforesaid in pursuance of the decree of the
