     This Indenture made the Twenty fifth day
of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight
Hundred and Forty eight, Between Archibald H. Cole
of the town of Columbus, in the County of Columbia
and state of Florida of the first part, and
Annie L. Mays eldest daughter of Doctor R.G.
Mays of the county of Madison, in said State
of Florida of the second part; Witnesseth that
Whereas an agreement or promise of Marriage
hath been entered into between the said parties
in pursuance of which a marriage is shortly to
be solemnized between them, Now therefore in
consideration of the said marriage about to be 
entered into between the said parties, and also
in the further consideration of one Dollar to the
said party of the first part in hand paid, the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the
said Archibald H. Cole, hath granted, bargained,
sold, aliened, conveyed and confirmed, and by
these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, convey,
and confirm unto the said Annie L. Mays, the
following described Real Estate, slaves and personal
property, to wit. The lands and Plantation of the
said party of the first part, situated on the Easterdly
side of "Lake Grandin" in the County of Alachua
in said state of Florida, an in Township nine, south
Range twenty four East- on fractional sections Numbers
Two, Ten, Eleven, thirteen, Fourteen, twenty three, Twenty
four, Twenty six, and thirty five, and comprising in all
one Thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven acre
and sixty eight hundredths of an acre, as will more
fully appear by the certificates of the entries of the 
same at the Land offices- together with all the
Buildings, Farming utensils, wagons mules horses,
cattle, hogs & c, now upon said plantation and thereunto
belonging and all the rights privileges, hereditaments and
appurtenances unto the same belonging or in any wise
appertaining- And also the following Slaves Now upon 
said plantation, together with their increase to wit,
Peter and his wife Mary, and their children, Lilla, Dolly,
Ben, Sicely and Jane,- Milly and her child named Jim,
Sam BRrown, and Tabby his wife, and their child named Joe,
Jim (Peters son) and Julia his wife, Reuben and Agnes
