Negro woman Ann and he Child Halbert, and the future issue and
increase of Said Negroes 
In testimony whereof the Said Sarah Ann Ellis hath thereunto Set
her hand this 16th day of August AD 1848

Florida Alachua County
     Know all men by these presents, that I Ann Pearce of the
County of Alachua and State of Florida have for the natural love
and affection which I bear to my Daughter Sarah Ann Hooker, and
my son William Pearce, and for divers good causes thereunto
moving; as well as for and in consideration of the Sum of five
dollars to me in hand paid at and before the Sealing and deliv-
ery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby ack-
nowledged hath granted, bargained, Sold, and conveyed, and by
these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, and convey, unto the
said Sarah Ann Hooker, and William Pearce, a certain Stock of 
Cattle ranging in the Counties of Columbia and Alachua and State
of Florida Branded AP. To have and to hold the Said above named
and described Stock of cattle, together with their increase unto
the Said Sarah Ann Hooker, and William Pearce, their heirs and 
assigns forever, with this proviso, and it is distinclty under-
stood that the Said Stock of Cattle Shall be, and remain in my
possesion for, and during the period of my natural life, and 
afterwards to be in the possesion of and under the entire con-
trol of the said Sarah Ann Hooker, and William Pearce, their 
heirs and assigns~
And I Ann Pearce for myself my heirs executors or administra-
tors, the Said Stock of cattle unto the Said Sarah Ann Hooker
and William Pearce, their heirs or assigns will warrant and for-
ever defend against any and all persons claiming by through or
under me, and against the Claim, or claims of all other persons
whatever
     In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed
my Seal this 21st day of July AD 1848
