This Indenture made this sixth day of August, one Thousand
eight hundred and forty eight, Between John J. Sanchez
commissioner of the Town of Newnansville of the one part, and
Joel B. Smith of Alachua County State of Florida of the
Second Part, Witnesseth that an order of the County Court of
Alachua County made in persuance of an act of the Legislative
Council of the Territory of Florida, it is ordered that the Town
Commissioner make and deliver deeds of conveyance to the purchase
of Town lots, in said Town of Newnansville, and whereas Joel
B. Smith as the purchaser of Town lots hereinafter mentioned
and set forth.
Now Know ye that the said John J. Sanchez Commissioner
aforesaid, by virtue of the Authority so as aforesaid in me vested
in consideration of the sum of Thirty one dollars lawful money of
the United States of America in hand paid at or before the
sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknow-
ledged, hath granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents
doth grant, bargain, and Sell unto the party of the Second
part, his heirs and assigns forever, All those two certain lots
pieces or parcels of land, each containing one half acre Situate
lying and being in the town of Newnansville County of Alachua
State of Florida, Known on a certain map or plat of Said Town of
Newnansville, as lots number seven (7) and eight (8) of Block number
six (6) Range number two (2) Together with all and singular the heredit-
aments and appurtenances unto the Said Joel B. Smith, his heirs and assigns
as fully and absolutely as I the Said John J. Sanchez Commissioner or aforesaid
might could or aught to Sell or convey the Same
     In witness whereof I the said Commissioner have hereunto Set
my hand and Seal, this 6th day of August One Thousand eight hundred
and forty eight-
