                   A Deed Conveyance
Whereas I Thomas C. Ellis late Sheriff and Exoffico Tax collector
of Alachua County and State of Florida, did on the twelfth
day of July A.D. one Thousand Eight hundred and forty Seven,
offer at Public Sale or out cry, in the manner or in the por-
tions, and quantity prescribed by law, a certain tract or parcel of
land, Situate in Said County, containing four hundred and
Seventy nine Acres more or less, Known and described as
follow to wit; The undivided interest or portion of Alfred
Deforest, in and to a certain tract of land, Known as
the Arredendo grant in said County and State aforesaid
For the purpose of claiming from the Sale thereof, an amount of
money Sufficient to pay the Tax due thereon, as from the owner or
owners thereof to said State for the year 1845, and for the State
and County tax for the year 1846, and all costs and
expenditures which necessarily accrued in and about the adver-
tisement and Sale thereof, there being a failure to pay said tax, and
whereas it became necessary to offer the whole of Said tract in
the manner and in the proportions and quantities prescribed by
law, before an amount was bid therefore Sufficient to pay Said tax
cost and expenditures, And whereas Henry C. Wilson agent for
O.M. Dorman was the highest bidder and the only person
at said Sale who bid for said tract, or any quantity or portion thereof
an amount Sufficiently large, to pay said tax costs and expenditures
he having bid for the whole of Said tract, the Sum of Seven dollars
and ninety five cents,
                Therefore be it Known that I Thomas C. Ellis
Sheriff and tax Collector as aforesaid in consideration of Said
Sum which I hereby acknowledge to have received from the Said
O.M. Dorman, do hereby grant bargain and Sell unto the said
O.M. Dorman his heirs and assigns, the said tract or parcel of land
Subject only to the right of redemption proved by law, and
I the Said Thomas C. Ellis, Sheriff and Tax collector as aforesaid,
hereby covenant with the Said O.M. Dorman his heirs Executors
administrators, and assigns, that in the advertisement and sale
of Said land I have observed all the requirements of law
      Witness my hand and Seal this 12th day of February
