messuages, land or tenements of the said James W. Earle
and to take the said Slaves unto her custody and possession
and the same to hold and detain to her own use and behoof
as her own proper goods and chatles from thenceforth and
for ever, or the Same to Sell and dispose of at will and pleasure,
returning the over pluss if any should happen to be, after
paying the said sum of thirty eight hundred and twenty
one Dollars and eighty eight and interest unto the Said
James W. Earle, his Executors, Administrators or assigns,

Subscribing witness to the foregoing Mortgage, who
being duly sworn, says that he saw J.W. Earle
Sign Seal and deliver the same for the purposes therein
mentioned and that he signed the same as a witness

This Indenture made this third day of February
A.D. Eighteen hundred and fifty four, Between Samuel
R. Johnson of the State of Florida and County of
Alachua, and Simeon Sikes of the State of Georgia
and County of Houston of the other part, Witnesseth,
that whereas the Said Samuel R. Johnson having this
day made, executed and delivered to the Said Simeon
Sikes two certain promissory notes bearing even date
with these presents, by which Said promissory notes
the said Samuel R. Johnson promises to pay to the
Said Simeon Sikes or bearer the amount of five
hundred dollars on or before the first day of January
eighteen hundred and fifty five and Six hundred
