State of Florida  } This Indenture made on this
County of Alachua } Sixteenth day of February in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
fifty five. Between William B. Hart of the County of
Sumpter, and State aforesaid, of the first part, and
Messrs George B. Payne and Horace Merry of the
County of Alachua and State aforesaid, of the second
part, Witness, That for and in consideration of the sum of
three thousand five hundred dollars to him in hand paid
at and before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged, the party of the first
part hath bargained, sold, given, granted and conveyed
and by these presents doth bargain, sell, give,
grant and convey unto the said parties of the second 
part, all that certain hereditament, plantation, or
tract of Land, situate in the County of Alachua
and State aforesaid, and known and described as follows,
that is to say, the West half of section nine of Town=
=ship ten, South Range twenty East, also the undivided
half of the West half of Section sixteen, Township
ten south of Range twenty East, and containing five
hundred and twenty three and three quarters of an acre
more or less, and represented on the map of the Arredondo
grant made by messrs Burr and Washington as above
described. To have and to hold the aforegranted premises
with all and singular, the appurtenances, and all the
estate, title and interest, of the said party of the first
part therein, or to the same in any wise appertaining
or belonging, unto the said parties of the second part
their heirs and assigns in fee simple forever and
the said party of the first part doth hereby covenant
and agree with the said parties of the second part that
at the time of the delivery of these presents, the said
party of the first part is the lawful owner of the
premises above granted, that he is seized thereof in fee
simple absolute, And that he will and his heirs, executors
and administrators, shall warrant and defend the above
granted premises in the quiet and peaceable possession
of the said parties of the second part their heirs and
assigns forever. In Witness whereof the said party
of the first part hath hereunto set his hand and
affixed his seal, this day and year first above written

undersigned a Justice of the peace in and for the
William B. Hart who acknowledged that he executed the foregoing Indenture
for the purposes therein set forth. Witness my hand this 22nd day of
