the appurtenances, and all the estate, title and
interest, of the parties of the first part therein, or to,
the Same in any wise appertaining, or belonging, unto the
Said party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns in fee
Simple forever, And the Said parties of the first part,
doth hereby covenant and agree with the Said party of the
Second part, that at the time of the delivery of these
presents, the said parties is the lawful owners of the
premises above granted, that they are Seized thereof in
fee Simple, absolute, And that they will, and their heirs,
Executors, and Administrators, Shall warrant and defend
the aforegranted premises, in the quiet and peaceable
of the party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns forever.
   In Witness Whereof, the parties of the first
part hath hereunto Set their hands, and affixed
their Seals, the day and year first above written

undersigned a Justice of the Peace, in and for the State
and County aforesaid, George B. Payne and Horace Merry
who acknowledged that they executed the foregoing Indenture
for the purposes therein Set forth.
   Witness my hand on this 7th day of June A.D. 1855

Know all men by these presents, that we Catharine G.
Payne and Grace M. Merry, do hereby relinquish our right
of Dower in the certain plantation or parcel of land
conveyed by the foregoing Indenture to James T. Thomas
  Witness our hands and Seals this 7th day of June
A.D. 1855

Know all men by these presents, that we Catharine G.
Payne and Grace M. Payne, do hereby acknowledge that
the foregoing relinquishment of Dower, was made on
our parts freely, voluntarily, and without any fear,
apprehension or compulsion of, or from our Husbands,
George B. Payne, and Horace Merry.
