                    } I Moses B. Maclay residing
in the City of New York, a Commissioner in said State,
to take Depositions, Affidavits, acknowledgments of Deeds,
power of Attorney, &c &c, to be used or recorded in the
State of Florida, duly commissioned under the law
thereof, and qualified, do hereby certify and make known
that on this fifth day of May in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and fifty five, before me
personally appeared the within named Henry G. Marquand
the signer and sealer of the annexed conveyance, known
to me to be the individual described in, and who executed
the said conveyance, and acknowledged that he signed, sealed
and delivered the same as his *** free act and Deed for
the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
  In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my
subscribed my name, and affixed my seal of office this
5th day of May of May, one thousand eight hundred
and fifty five, at my office in the City of New York.

  This Indenture made this first day of May one
thousand eight hundred and fifty five, between
Charles W. Brush and Eugene Van Ness, by his
Attorney Julia A. Van Ness, surviving Executors of
the last will and Testament of Nehemiah Brush M.D.
Deceased, of the first part, and Thomas Whittaker of 
the second part, Witnesseth, that the said parties of the
first part, by virtue of the power and authority to
them given in and by said last will and Testament,
and for and in consideration of the sum of five
hundred and fifty ($550) to dollars ($550) to them
in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknow
=ledged, have granted, bargained, sold and conveyed,
and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell
and convey, unto the said party of the second part,
his heirs and assigns forever all that piece or
