County of Alachua } This Indenture made on this twenty ninth
day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and fifty five, Between Daniel C. Hart of the County and State
aforesaid of the first part, and Messrs Horace Merry and George B.
Payne of the State and County aforesaid of the second part,
 Witnesseth, That for and in consideration of the sum of two
thousand five hundred dollars, to him in hand paid at and
before the sealing and delivery hereof, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, the party of the first part hath bargained
sold, given, granted and conveyed, and by these presents, doth
so bargain, sell, give, grant and convey, unto the said parties
of the second part, all that certain hereditament, plantation, or
tract of land, situate in the County of Alachua and State
aforesaid, and known and described as follows; that is to say;
the East half of Section nine, and the undivided half of the
west half of section sixteen, of Township ten, south
of Range twenty east, and containing five hundred and twenty
three and three quarters of an acre, more or less, and represented
on the map of the Arredondo Grant made by Messrs Burr and
Washington, as above described, To have and to hold the
aforegranted premises, with all and singular the appurtenances
and all the estate, title and interest, of the said party of
the first part therein, or to the same in anywise apper=
=taining or belonging unto the said parties of the second
part, their heirs and assigns in fee simple forever, and
the said party of the first part, doth hereby covenant and
agree with the said parties of the second part, that at
the time of the delivery of these presents, the said party
of the first part, is the lawful owner of the premises
aforegranted, and that he will is seized thereof in fee simple
absolute and that he will, and his heirs, Executors and
administrators, shall warrant and defend the same
aforegranted premises in the quiet and peaceable poss
possession of the parties of the second part, their
heirs and assigns forever.
  In Witness whereof, the said party of the first
part, hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his
seal the day and year first above written

County of Alachua } Personally appeared before me the
undersigned a Justice of the peace in and for the State
and County aforesaid, Daniel C. Hart who acknowledged
that he executed the foregoing Indenture for the
purposes therein set forth.
