Fairfield District}  "Know all men by these presents that I William
Lewis Senior of the State and district aforesaid for and in con-
sideration of the natural love and affection which I have for my
son John Lewis, and also in consideration of the sum of one
Dollar to me in hand paid at & before the signing of these
presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given
bargained sold and Delivered and by these presents do give bargain
sell & deliver unto the said John Lewis in trust however during
the term of his natural life for his own use and behoof and
upon the Death of the said John then to whatever child or
children of the said John may be living at the time of his
Death - the following Negros to wit Ben, Viney, Washington, Black
Ben, Margret, Kizzy & her children, Maria, Sarah and William & Bob
together with their future increase, To have and to hold all & sin-
gular the nine Negros above named according to the uses & trust
above mentioned, And I do hereby bind myself & my executors Admin-
istrators or assigns forever to warrant and defend the title of the
said Negros to the said John Lewis during his natural life,
and at his Death to his children according to the former conditions
& provisions of this Deed. In witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand & affixed my seal this the ninth day of February in the
year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & forty one
