for and in consideration of

This Indenture made the seventh day of May in the
year One thousand eight hundred and fifty five
Between Jessee Delano, merchant, of the City, County and
and State of New York, of the first part, and Henry
G. Marquand of the same City County and State of
second part Witnesseth that the said party of the
first part in consideration of the sum of Four hun=
dred dollars to him in hand paid before the delivery
hereof, hath bargained and sold, and by these presents
doth bargain and sell grant and convey to the said
party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever
all those two pieces, parcels or lots of land, situate
lying and being in the County of Alachua and in the
State of Florida known and described as follows: Section

Range number Twenty one (21) containing Six hundred
and forty and 92/100 acres, more or less, Also Section

2 lots being a part of the land bid off in my
name at a partition sale of the Arredondo Grant
