Alachua County } This Indenture made the twelfth day of
February A.D. One thousand eight hundred and fifty six
W. Washington Scott of the County and State aforesaid of the
first part and James D. Colson of the second part Witnesseth
That the said party of the first part for and in considera-
tion of two hundred and seventy five dollars to him
in hand paid by the said party of the second part
at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted
bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, conveyed
and confirmed and by these presents do grant, bar
gain, sell, alien, remise, release, convey and confirm
unto the said party of the second part, and to his
heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel
of land known as the E1/2 of the NE1/4 and NE1/4 of
of SE1/4 section nine (9) and the NW1/4 of SW1/4 of
of section No two (2) in Township seven south of Range
Nineteen 19 East, together with all and singular the tene
ments, hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto be
longing or in anywise appertaining And also all the
estate, right, title interest and claim whatsoever of the said
party of the first part of in or to the above described prem-
ises. To Have and to hold the above mentioned
and described premises, and every part and parcel
thereof, together with the appurtenances unto the party
of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever "in
fee simple" And the said W. Washington Scott
for himself and his heirs the said premises in the
quiet and peaceable possession of the said party
of the second part, his heirs and assigns, against the
party of the first part and his heirs and against all
persons whomsoever, lawfully claiming or to claim
the same shall and will warrant and by these presents
forever defend. In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this the day and year first
above written.

Before me Lemuel Wilson Clerk of the Circuit Court of Alachua
County, Eastern Circuit of Florida, personally appeared on this
the 12th Feby 1856, Samuel B. McLin, who being duly sworn
says that he was one of the subscribing witnesses to the
foregoing deed, and that he saw the same executed
and delivered
