The State of South Carolina
Know all men by these presents that I William R.
Ryan factor of Charleston in the State aforesaid
in consideration of sum of Twelve hundred dollars
to me paid by Tilman Ingram in the State afore
said have granted bargained sold and released and
by these presents do grant bargain sell and release
unto the said Tilman Ingram all that tract of land
situated lying and being in Alachua County in the
State of Florida designated by the section number
thirty three (33) of Township number nine (9) in Range
number twenty (20) in the general plan and survey of
the said County hereinafter particularly mentioned
and measuring and containing six hundred and forty
acres more or less which tract or section of land is
included within the limits of the grant heretofore
made unto one Fernando de la Masa Arredondo formerly
of the territory of East Florida and is now in the pos-
session of the said William B. Ryan, together with all
and singular the rights members hereditaments and ap-
purtenances to the said premises belonging or in anywise
incident or appertaining. To have and to hold all
and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said
Tilman Ingram his heirs and assigns forever and I do
hereby bind myself my heirs executors and adminis-
trators to warrant and forever defend all and sin
gular the said premises unto the said Tilman Ingram
his heirs and assigns against me and my heirs and
all other person or persons lawfully claiming or to
claim the same or any part thereof.
Witness my hand and seal this fifth day of July in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and 
fifty five and in the eightieth year of the independence 
of the United States of America

I Thomas Ryan magistrate do hereby certify unto all
whom it may concern that Martha A. Ryan the wife
of the within named William R. Ryan did this day
appear before me and upon being privately and sep
arately examined by me did declare that she does freely
voluntarily and without an compulsion dread or fear
of any person or persons whomsoever renounce release
and forever relinquish unto the within named Tilman
Ingram his heirs and assigns all her interest and estate
and also all her right and claim of dower in or to all
and singular the premises within mentioned and released
