Alachua County   } Personally appeared before the sub-
scriber a Justice of the Peace in and for Alachua County
Mrs Elizabeth J. Thomas to me well known to be the per-
-son who executed the foregoing relinquishment of dower
and she being by me examined separate and apart
from her husband acknowledged and declared that
she had executed the same freely and voluntarily upon
her part and without any compulsion constraint ap-
prehension or fear of or from her said husband.
Witness my hand and seal this eighth (8) day of Febry
in the year Eighteen hundred and fifty six

Alachua County   } This Indenture made on the 25th day of
February Eighteen hundred and fifty six between Robt
H. Howren the successor in office of John M. Hendry agent
in trust for East Florida Seminary located in Micanopy
of the first part and Jno C. Ley John Penny John J. Richard
John W. Mills Geo W. Pratt John Lewis George E. McLellum

trust for said seminary of the other part Witnesseth that
said party of the first part for and in consideration of
One thousand dollars to him in hand paid or secured
to be paid by the said parties of the second part as trustees
aforesaid and their successors in office hath granted
given bargained sold and conveyed and by these pres-
-ents doth bargain sell and deliver to the said parties
of the second part as trustees aforesaid and their suc-
cessors in office in perpetuity all that certain piece or
parcel of land situate at Micanopy aforesaid and sur-
-veyed and described as follows, To wit, Beginning at a
point Twenty one chains and thirty three links west of
the south eastern corner of the certain parcel of land
now owned and possessed by Joel B. Smith and running
thence North by true meridian fourteen chains & twenty links
thence East seven chains and twelve links thence north seven
chains twelve links thence West Twenty four chains & ninety
two links thence south ten chains & eighty three links thence
East Three chains and thirty three links thence south three
chains & eighteen links thence west three chains & thirty
three links thence about seven chains and thirty four links
south to the southern boundary line of the land the said
Joel B. Smith and thence East 4° 13' North along the said
boundary line to the point of beginning and containing
forty acres more or less the said described land heredit-
aments to correspond with a survey of the same made
