court of Alachua Co. Eastern circuit of Florida
personally appeared on this 10th day of March
1856 John C. Rawls to me well Known as one of the
subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed who
being duly sworn says he saw the same executed
for the purposes therein mentioned and that he
signed the same as a subscribing witness.

Alachua County       This Indenture made on the
Twenty second day of March in the year of our Lord
One thousand eight hundred and fifty six between
Joel B. Smith of the village of Micanopy Alachua 
County and state of Florida of the first part and
Elizabeth Agnes Garrison of the village of Micanopy state
and county aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that
for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars
to me in hand paid at and before the sealing and
delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged the said party of the first
hath bargained sold given granted and conveyed
and by these presents doth so bargain sell give
grant and convey unto the said party of the
second part all that certain hereditament parcel
or lot of land lying and being situate in the village
of Micanopy State and county aforesaid and
Known and described as follows, That is to say, being
lot No. (1) one of Township No. (2) two North of Range
No 1 one West according to a plat of the lands of the
party of the first part by which all his lots are
designated being part of section No (20) Twenty
East of the Arredondo Grant, To have and to hold the
aforegranted premises with all and singular the ap-
purtencances and all the Estate title and interest of the
party of the first part therein or to the same in any
wise appertaining unto the said party of the second
part his heirs and assigns in fee simple forever. And
the said party of the first part doth hereby covenant
and agree with the said party of the second part that
at the time of the delivery of these presents the said
party of the first part is the lawful owner of
the premises above granted that he is seized therein
