Before me Lemuel Wilson Clerk of the Circuit Court
of Alachua County Eastern Circuit of Florida personally
appeared on this the 3d day of March 1856 Stephen Sparkman
one of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed who
being duly sworn says that he saw the same execu-
-ted for the purposes therein mentioned and that he
together with Cornelius Johns signed the same as
subscribing witnesses.

Know all men by these presents that I Cornelius
Johns of Alachua County and State of Florida for and in
consideration of the sum of Three hundred dollars to
me in hand paid by Peter Sparkman in said County
and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge have given granted bargained sold and con-
veyed and do by these presents give grant bargain
and sell and convey unto the said Peter Sparkman
the following and parcel of land situated in the Coun
-ty and State aforesaid and known as the North West
quarter of the North East quarter of Section No Three
in Township No Eight south of Range No Twenty East
in the District of the lands subject to sale at Newnans
-ville Florida containing forty acres with all the privi-
-leges and appurtenances to the same in any wise
appertaining or belonging. To have and to hold the
aforesaid granted premises unto the said Peter Spark
-man his heirs and assigns to his and their use and
behoof forever, and I the said Cornelius Johns for
myself my heirs and executors and administrators
do covenant with the said Peter Sparkman his 
heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in
