and Nancy Saunders (his wife) above named, and ac-
knowledged that they signed and sealed the above
conveyance for the purposes therein mentioned

This Indenture made and entered into
this ninth day of May One thousand eight
hundred and fifty six, between David
J. Ridaught of the County of Alachua
and State of Florida, of the first part and
George L. Brown of the County and State
aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth
  Whereas the said party of the first part
is justly indebted to the said party of the 
second part in the sum of Two thousand
five hundred and seventy one & 64/100 dollars, law-
ful money of the United States, con-
ditioned for the payment of Twelve
hundred and eighty five and 82/100 dollars
with interest thereon at eight per cent, as
by law of the State of Florida on or before
the first day of January next ensuing
