The "Bond or writing obligatory"
Know all men by these presents that I David
J. Ridaught of Alachua County State of Florida
am held and firmly bound unto George
L. Brown of the County and State aforesaid
in the sum of Two thousand five hundred
and Seventy and 64/100 Dollars, to be paid to the
said George L. Brown his certain attorney
executors administrators and or assigns, For
which payment well and truly to be made
I bind myself my heirs executors and ad-
ministrators and every of them firmly by these
presents, Sealed with my seal and dated
the ninth day of May One thousand eight
hundred and fifty six at Newnansville
Florida. The Condition of the above
obligation is such that if the above bounden
David J. Ridaught, his or either of his heirs
executors administrators or assigns, do and
shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
to the said George L. Brown, his executors
administrators or assigns the full sum of
Twelve hundred and eighty five dollars
and 82/100 with interest at eight per cent
per annum, for the Same from the date
hereof, on or before the first day of January
next ensuing, then this obligation shall be
null and void, otherwise the same shall
remain in full force and virtue
