This Indenture made 3rd day of January A.D. 1855
Eighteen hundred and fifty five, Between Frederick Marquand
of the City of New York party of the first part, and Edward
L. King of Alachua County Fla. Witnesseth that the Said party
of the first part, in consideration of the Sum of five hundred
and twenty five dollars by him in hand paid the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged, hath bargained and Sold and by these
presents do hereby bargain, Sell, grant, enfeoff, and convey to
the Said party of the Second part the following described
land, Situated in the County of Alachua & State aforesaid
to wit, Section Number Six, in Township Number Ten, of Range
Twenty 22, containing 558 60/100 acres, also Section 18, Township
10, Range 22 containing 554 acres, and also Section 13, Town
=Ship Ten, Range 21 containing 639 20/100 acres of Arredondo
Grant & County of Alachua, To have and to hold the
Same, unto the said party of the Second part, his heirs and
assigns for ever with the appurtenances thereto belonging and
the Said premises the Said party of the first part unto the
Said party of the Second part, his heirs and assigns in every part and
parcel thereof against all and every person claiming or to claim
the Same, will forever warrant and defend.
     In Witness Whereof the Said party of the first part doth hereunto set
his hand and Seal the day and year first above written

  I Hetty Marquand wife of Frederick Marquand, do
hereby relinquish and renounce all Claims of Dower of in and
to the premises within described, and acknowledge that the said
renunciation was made without any fear or compulsion or constraint
of her said Husband

  On this the 4th day of January one thousand eight
hundred and fifty five, personally came George R. Fairbanks,
who acknowledged the within Signature to be his act and deed
done as the attorney of the within named parties, Frederick  
Marquand, and his wife Hetty Marquand.
   In Witness I have hereunto set my hand, and fixed
the seal of the probate court, this 4th day of Jany
