State of Florida } Personally appeared before me
Alachua County   } Clerk of the Circuit Court in &
for Said County William D. Clark whose name
appears as a Subscribing witness to the foregoing
Deed of Mortgage; who being duly Sworn
says that he saw Thomas C. Love Sign the said
deed; and that the said Thomas C. Love ackn
owledged his signature to the same to be genuine
for the purposes contained and set forth in Said

Chatham County   }  This Indenture made the first day of March
in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty one,
between Lucy B. Williams of the City of Savannah in the County
and State aforesaid Spinster of the first; Samuel R.W. Furman
of the State of South Carolina of the Second part, and John T.
Rowland of the City of Savannah aforesaid, and James O. Screven
of the County of Bryan in the State of Georgia aforesaid of
the third part, Whereas a Marriage is intended to be had and Solem
=nised, between the Said Lucy B. Williams, and the Said Samuel R.
W. Furman, and whereas the Said Lucy B. Williams the party of
the first part, is now possessed of, and entitled to an undivided
half of the following Negro Slaves, to wit: Will, Patience,
Jacob, Mary, Lyndy, Sarah, Alexander, Daphney, Bason,
Hannah, Peter, George, January, Sophy, Anica, Grace,
Phillis, Aleck, Bacus, Tom, Aleck, Tom, Henry, Laidy,
Warsaw, Nina, Stephen, Joly, Patience, Sophia,
Abram, Billy, Bason, Paris, Sampson, Phillis, Dye,
Siah, Reuben, and Ellen, forty in all, and also and undi=
=vided half in lot Number (17) Seventeen, Washington Ward,
in the City of Savannah aforesaid, also other real and
personal estate which cannot now be enumerated, designated
And whereas the Said Lucy B. is desirous of Selling, and dipos
=ing of all her property, real or personal, upon certain uses
and trusts hereinafter mentioned and expressed; Now this Indenture
Witnesseth, that the Said Lucy B. Williams by and with the consent
of her Said intended Husband Signified by his becoming a party to
and Signing and Sealing this Indenture, and for and in consider=
=ation of the Said intended marriage, and also the Sum
of five dollars to her in hand well and truly paid by the
Said parties of the third part, the receipt whereof, She
doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted, bargained, Sold,
aliened, remised, released, confirmed, and delivered, and by these
