G.H. Merry To J.W. Carter
Deed"
State of Florida } Whereas by a deed of conveyance made and executed by my
Alachua County } late husband Horace Merry to Robert A. Childs under date of
December 1853 wherein for and in consideration of Sixty nine dollars to him in
hand paid he conveyed to the said Childs Ninety Two acres of lands described as
follows in said deed: by estimation beginning at a Stake which is the corner of a
lot of land belonging to the said Robert A. Childs and this said lot near the
house of Mrs Elizabeth Duskins running north parallel with the North and South
lines of the section in which said land is contained to the North line of said
section: thence West to the North west corner of the same Section thence south to
the corner of the land of the said Robert A. Childs in same Section thence East
to place of beginning the whole forming a parallelogram and part and parcel of
Sec 25 T11 R20" And whereas the record of said deed in the Book of
records in the office of the Clerk of Court at Gainesville it appears that
through inadvertence or ignorance I did not execute and acknowledge a
relinquishment of my dower in & to said land so as aforesaid conveyed and
desiring to cure said defect now. Therefore know all men by these presents
that for and in consideration of the premises aforesaid and the benefits I have
received from the same and the further consideration of one dollar to me in
hand paid the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge I have bargained sold and
quit-claimed and by these presents do bargain sell and quit-claim to James
W. Carter and to his heirs and assigns forever all my right, title interest
estate claim and demand in and to said ninety two acres of land as
described in said deed of conveyance so made as aforesaid to Robert A. Childs
by my said husband with all and singular the improvements thereto
appertaining. In Witness Whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 25
day of February AD 1882

Alachua County } Before the subscriber a Justice of the Peace in and
for said County personally came Geo J. Arnow who being duly sworn
says that he saw Gracie Merry sign the foregoing deed and acknowledge
that she did so for the purpose therein set forth and that he
together with C.N. Merry signed the same as witnesses
