  James M. Hawthorn To Daniel W. Merritt
                  "Deed"
State of Florida } This Indenture made this 22nd day of April AD 1882
Alachua County   } between James M. Hawthorn of said State and County
and his wife Sarah P. Hawthorn who joins her husband in this conveyance
for the purpose of relinquishing her dower in the lands hereinafter described
parties of the first part and Daniel W. Merritt of Hawthorn in the
County of Alachua State of Florida of the second part. Witnesseth That
for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five dollars to the parties of
the first part paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have
granted bargained sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell
and convey unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns
in fee simple all that certain tract or parcel of land lying and
being in The Town of Hawthorn aforesaid and described as follows to
wit on Block Four (4) Lot (5) Five in said Town of Hawthorn meaning
hereby to convey the premises whereon the Gin house of said
Merritt now stands containing one fourth of an acre more or less
To have and to Hold the above described land to the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns together with the rights members and
appurtenances thereunto being belonging or in any manner appertaining
