       Stephen S. Polk To F.W. Polk.
                   "Deed"
State of Florida  }
County of Alachua } This Indenture made the eighteenth day
of January One thousand eight hundred and eighty nine,
Between Stephen S. Polk and his wife Eliza Polk parties of
the first part, and F.W. Polk the party of the second part all 
of the State and County aforesaid, Witnesseth that the party of
the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of One
hundred Dollars, lawful money of the United States to me
duly paid, before the delivery hereof, hath bargained and sold
and by these presents do grant and convey to the said party
of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all that
certain piece or tract of land being and lying in the County
of Alachua and State of Florida which is known and des-
-cribed as follows, Viz, NW1/4 of NE1/4 & SW1/4 of NE1/4 of Sec 17 &
NE1/4 of NW1/4 & SE1/4 of NW1/4 Section 17 all being and lying in
Township 9, Range 16. Together with all and singular the ten
-ements, hereditaments and appurtenances belonging thereunto,
And the parties of the first part doth hereby covenant and
agree with the parties of the second part that the parties
of the second part are henceforth the lawful owners of the
premises above granted bargained and sold to the said
parties of the second part, And we the parties of the first part
doth forever warrant and defend the above granted premises
as the quiet and peaceable possessions of the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns forever in witness where
-of we have hereunto set our hands and seals this the 18th
