 W.M. Knox To Ellen Dupuy
          Mortgage
State of Florida Alachua County April 18th 1882
This Indenture made the eighteenth day of April in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eighty two
as aforesaid between William M. Knox a resident of
said County and State, merchant, and Mattie F. his wife of the
first part and Mrs Ellen Dupuy wife of V.I. Dupuy of the
second part. Witnesseth: That the said parties of the first part
for and in Consideration of the Sum of Twelve hundred
dollars ($1200) lawful money of the United States to them
in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
have granted bargained sold aliened released Conveyed and
Confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien
release Convey and Confirm unto the said party of the sec-
ond part and to her heirs or assigns forever all that Cer-
tain lot of ground situated and being in the Town of
Micanopy in said County and State known as the George
R. Franklin lot of ground bounded on the West
by land belonging to Mrs S.A. Knox on the North by
lands of R.S. Stoughton on the East by lands of G.R.
Fairbanks on the South by a public Street together
with all the building improvements and appurtennan-
ces thereon belonging, and also all the estate
right title interest dower possession claim and dem-
and whatsoever of the said parties of the first part 
of in and to the Same and every part thereof with the
appurtenances. To have and to hold the said hereby
granted premises with the appurtenances unto the
said party of the Second part her heirs and assigns
to her and their only proper use benefit and
behoof forever. Provided always that if the Said
parties of the first part their heirs executors admin-
istrators or assigns shall pay unto the said party of
the second part her executors administrators or assigns
the Sum of Twelve hundred dollars on or before the
Eighteenth day of April Eighteen hundred and Eighty three
with interest on said amount at the rate of
ten per Cent per annum according to the Condition
of the promissory note of said William M. Knox
and his wife the said Mattie F. bearig even date
herewith, then these presents shall become void and
the estate hereby granted shall cease and determine
But if default shall be made in the payment
of the said Sum of money and interest or of any
part thereof at the time herein specified for the
payment thereof the said parties of the first part
in such case do hereby authorize and fully
