County of Alachua } This Indenture made the Twenty
Fourth day of June one thousand eight hundred and
Eighty Two between John J.M. Hodge of the State
and County aforesaid and Mary Martha his wife
parties of the first part and Thomas Barnes of Al=
achua County Florida of the second part, Witnesseth
that the said parties of the first part for and in
Consideration of the sum of Forty Dollars Lawful
money of the United States to them in hand paid
by the parties of the second part at or before
the ensealing and delivery of these presents the re-
ceipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have remised
released and quit claimed and by these

Charles Franklin To James B. Brown

Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents
that it is agreed between James B. Brown of the
first part and Charles Franklin All of the above
State and County that the party of the first part
James B. Brown agrees to furnish a mule to plow
and 20 Acres of land and the said Charles Franklin
is to do all the Labor of Cultivating and gathering it
under the direction of the said Brown as his Agt
and that for the said Labor the said Brown is to
give to said Franklin half of the Crop of Corn
Cotton &C that is made on said 20 Acres and for
every day that said Franklin has Browns Mules to
plow his Crop at home he is to pay 75¢ per day
and for every day that the said Brown hires said
Franklin or any of the Family he shall give the said
Franklin credit for 75¢ per day for himself 50¢ per
day for his wife and 37 1/2 cts each for the Boys
if they feed themselves But when found they are
to have 50 cts for Franklin 40 cts for wife and 25
cts each for the Boys and to Secure the said Brown
for all money or provisions advanced to help Franklin
make his Crop the said Brown has the right to all
the Crop Corn Cotton &C made by said Franklin
either on Brown's place or where said Franklin
lives and the said Franklin has no right to Sell
any part of it until the said Brown is fully paid
for all Cash or provisions advanced to said
