Alachua County   } Wheres we Annie E. Jarvis and James
H. Jarvis her husband of the aforesaid County and
State are indebted unto H.F. Dutton and Company
of Gainesville, Florida by our joint and several
promissory note in the Sum of One hundred and
fifty nine ($15900) Dollars bearing even date with these
presents payable Six months after its date and bearing
interest after maturity at the rate of Twelve (12) per
Centum per annum - And whereas said promissory note
was given for the amount thereof in cash this day
loaned to me the said Annie E. Jarvis for the benefit
of myself & family and being desirous of fully and ef-
factually securing the payment of said promissory note
at the time it falls due & according to its legal tenor
and effect. Therefore know all men by these presents
that I the said Annie E. Jarvis (formerly Annie E.
Beattie & widow of George F.K. Beattie deceased and execu-
trix of the last will of said George F.K. Beattie deceased}
under and by virtue of the power in me as such Ex-
ecutrix under and in the Said last will of said
George F.K. Beattie deceased and in my own right as
beneficiary legatee under said last will and the Said
James H. Jarvis husband of the Said Annie E. Jarvis
for and in Consideration of the premises and the said Sum
of one hundred and fifty nine dollars to us cash in
hand paid by the said H.F. Dutton and Company have
granted bargained Sold Conveyed and Mortgaged and
by these presents do grant bargain Sell Convey
and mortgage unto them the said H.F. Dutton and
Company all of that Certain lot block piece or
parcel of land lying and being in the Town
of Gainesville in Alachua County State of Florida
particularly known and described upon the Maps
of the Original plan of said Town of Gainesville
as being Block No One (1) of Range No Five (5)= To-
gether with all and singular the tenements hereditam-
ents and appurtenances to the same belonging or
in anywise appertaining = To have and to Hold the
Same unto the Said H.F. Dutton and Company
and to their heirs and assigns forever= Provided
always nevertheless and this instrument is ex-
ecuted and delivered upon this express Condition
that if the said Annie E. Jarvis and James H.
Jarvis or either of us Shall and do well and truly
pay the full amount of the Said promissory note
