W.H.H. Folk to Mrs S.A. Stringfellow
                     "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Whereas I W.H.H. Folk am Justly indebted to Mrs
Alachua County   } S.A. Stringfellow in the sum of One hundred and
fifteen dollars which said sum of money is covenanted to be paid by
my certain promissory note bearing even date herewith one for the
sum of one hundred and fifteen Dollars payable in Six months
after the date thereof with interest at the rate of one per cent per
month from date. And Whereas I am desirous of fully and better
securing the payment of said note and sum of money mentioned
therein. Therefore know all men by these presents that I W.H.H. Folk
for and in consideration of the premises and of the sum of one Dollar to me
in hand paid have granted bargained and sold and by these
presents do grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Mrs S.A.
Stringfellow her heirs and assigns all the following described
pieces parcels or tracts of land to wit: Block No Two of Range No One
(1) and Block No Two of Range No Two and Block No One of 
Range NoThree and Block No Two of Range No Three of the
Town of Orangeburg Section Thirty three Township Nine of Range
Twenty Alachua County State of Florida said afore described Blocks
being in accordance with a platt or map of said Town of Orangeburg
as Recorded in Deed Book "J" public records of Alachua at pages
(230 and 231) Together with all and singular the tenements
hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belong. To have and
to hold the same unto the said Mrs S.A. Stringfellow in fee
simple absolute forever Provided however and these presents are
upon this express condition that if the said W.H.H. Folk his
heirs or assigns shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
the sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note together
with the interest to accrue thereon according to the legal tenor
thereof then this obligation shall become null and void else
to remain in full force and virtue And it is hereby further
agreed and stipulated that the said W.H.H. Folk will pay all
expenses costs and attorney's fees which the said Mrs S.A.
Stringfellow may be put to in enforcing the collection of the
aforesaid sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note
by foreclosure or otherwise. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set
my hand and affixed my seal on this 7th day of August AD 1882

acknowledged that he executed signed sealed and delivered the
foregoing conveyance for the uses and purposes therein contained
and expressed

For and in Consideration of the full payment of the Sum of money hereby
Secured I hereby Cancel and discharge this mortgage from record this 1st day
 of February AD 1886
