lars on a debt due me from her and mentioned
in a Mortgage given by her to me of date
the 14th of May AD 1877 and recorded in the
Clerks Office at Gainesville Fla in Mortgage
Book D on pages 455 and 456

  Dudley Chisholm to G.K. Broome
          "Mortgage"
  State of Florida, Alachua County
Know all men by these presents that whereas I Dudley Chisholm of above
state and county are indebted to G.K. Broome of the same state and
county in the sum of Seventy Five dollars lawful money of the United
States which said sum is expressed in one certain promissory note
bearing date 25th March 1882 and for the said sum of Seventy Five dollars
together with interest at ___ Now therefore to better secure said G.K.
Broome in full payment of said Note and interest as expressed do
by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said G.K.
Broome his heirs and assigns all my right title interest and claim of
in and to all the crops whatsoever species kind or description now growing
or which may hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for me or for
my benefit on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also the
following described property to wit: One (1) Sorrel Horse said Horse traded for
this day (29th Mch 82) with George W. Sparkman. To Have and to Hold
all and singular the crops lands and personal property above bargained
and sold unto the said G.K. Broome his heirs executors administrators and
assigns forever. Provided nevertheless that if the said Dudley Chisholm
should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said G.K. Broome
the full amount of said note together with the interest according to its
tenor and effect then this instrument to be void else to remain in full
force and virtue And it is hereby further agreed that should it become
necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings the said
