Thousand Dollars due Two years after date: one for One Thousand
Dollars due Three years after date: One for One Thousand Dollars due
Four years after date: and another for the sum of One Thousand
Dollars due Five years after date: Each of said notes bearing Interest
from date at {6%) Six per cent annum payable to the order of Hill
Brothers at their office in New York City New York And Whereas I
am desirous of fully and better securing the payment of said notes and
the sum of money mentioned therein Therefore know all men by these
Presents That I Phila A. Williams for and in consideration of the
premises and of the sum of One Dollar to me in hand paid have granted
bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell and convey
unto the said Hill Brothers their his heirs and assigns all the
following described piece parcel or tract of land to wit: All that certain
fractional part or portion of the South half of Section Five (5) Township
(10) Ten South of Range Twenty (20) East lying South West of the Town
of Gainesville in Alachua County Florida Commencing at the South East
corner of the Lot in said Town of Gaineville known as the Mrs A.E. Taylor
Lot and running thence west One Thousand and Three Hundred and
Fifty Five feet Thence South Six Hundred and Thirty feet thence East
Eight Hundred and Ninety Eight feet thence North Four Hundred
and Twenty feet thence East Four Hundred and Fifty Four feet: thence
North Two Hundred and Ten feet to place of beginning containing Fifteen
(15) acres of land more or less. Together with all and singular the tenements
hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging To have and to hold
the same unto the said Hill Brothers and to their heirs and assigns
in fee simple absolute forever. Provided however and these presents are
upon this express consideration that if the said Phila A. Williams
her heirs or assigns shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
the sum of money covenanted to be paid by said note together with
the interest to accrue thereon according to the legal tenor thereof
then this obligation shall become null and void else to remain in
full force and virtue And it is hereby further agreed and Stipulated
that the said Phila A. Williams will pay all expenses costs and
attorneys fees which the said Hill Brothers their heirs or assigns
may be put to in enforcing the Collection of the aforesaid Sum of
money covenanted to be paid by said note by foreclosure or otherwise
In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal
on this 14th day of September AD 1882
