State of Fla } Know all by thes presents that I D.H. Merchant of the
Alachua Co } State & County 1st written^of 1st part^do this 11 dy of Feb
AD 1882 Mortgage to J.E. Dodd of the 2nd part & same State & County my
entire crop raised on the said Dodd's plantation to secure him in the
payment by me of the of One hundred and Seventeen Dollars & 25/100 rent
for forty five acres of land & this mortgage is also to secure the payment
of any and all other debts that the said Merchant may contract
with the said Dodd the rent is to be paid the 1st of Nov 1882 &
nothing of the crop is to be moved or sold from the plantations until
the said rent or debts are paid. To this I set my hand and affix
my seal this 11 day of Feb 1882
