Now therefore to better secure the payment of said note and interest
as expressed therein do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey
unto the said______       heirs and assigns the following described
property to wit: One Grey Horse Charley and one Buck wagon To have
and to Hold all and singular the Crops lands and personal property above
bargained and sold unto the said G.D. Younglove & Son their heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever Provided nevertheless that if the said
J.B. Waples should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said
G.D. Younglove & Son the full amount of said note together with the
interest according to its tenor and effect then this instrument to be void
else to remain in full force and virtue And it is hereby further agreed that
should it become necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings
the said J.B. Waples will pay therefor all attorney's fees charges and
expenses - In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal
this 19th say of Sept AD 1882

        John Sweat to John L. Gaskins
                     Mortgage
This Indenture made the 12th day of August in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and Eighty two 1882 Between John Sweat and
Mary L. Sweat his wife of the County of Alachua State of Florida
parties of the first part and Dr John L. Gaskins of Bradford County
State of Florida of the second part Whereas the said John Sweat &
Mary L. Sweat are Justly indebted to the said John L. Gaskins party of
the second part in the sum of Five hundred ($50000) Dollars lawful
money of the United States of America for the for the payment whereof
the said John Sweat and Mary Sweat his wife parties of the first
part have made and executed their certain promissory note of even
date with these presents for the sum of Five hundred dollars as
aforesaid and due and payable twelve months after date with
interest at the rate of three per cent per month payable semi annually
that is on the 12th day of February AD 1883 and on the 12th day of
