charges that the said Taylor & Sanchez may have against me growing
out of the Prosecution of two suits against Earnest Wells one for Larceny
& the other for Replevin that in consideration of the premises and of the
sum of $00 one dollar to me in hand paid I have this day granted
bargained & Sold & by these presents do grant bargain & Sell to the
said Taylor & Sanchez a dark bay mare about four years old branded
P.S. on the left foresholder to have and to hold the said property
unto the said Taylor & Sanchez. The Condition of the above obligation
is such that if the said Peter Span will well and truly pay his
said promissory notes together with all charges thereon the said
Taylor & Sanchez may have against him and if it should become
necessary to proceed according to law to collect the amounts hereby
secured. In witness Whereof I the said Peter Span has hereto set
his hand and seal on this 20th day of Sept 1882

       Levi Hutchinson to Dora T. Cromwell
                      "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Whereas we Levi Hutchinson and Adelia Hutchinson
Alachua County   } his wife are Justly indebted to Dora T. Cromwell in
the sum of Eight hundred and Twenty dollars which said sum of
money is covenanted to be paid by Three certain promissory notes
bearing even date herewith one for the sum of two hundred and Twenty
dollars payable on the first day of January AD 1883 one for the sum
of Three hundred dollars payable on the first day of January AD 1884
and one for the sum of Three hundred dollars payable on the first day
of January AD 1885 all to bear interest from date at the rate of
ten per cent per annum and it is hereby expressly understood and
agreed that should default be made in the payment of any one
of the notes when the same becomes due then and in that case
