R.A. Sturgess To Mariah Parish
              Mortgage
This Indenture made the Sixth day of October in
the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and Eighty Two Between Mrs R.A. Sturgess and her
husband William Sturgess of Alachua County Florida
of the first part and Mariah Parish of State and County
aforesaid of the second part: Whereas the said Mrs
R.A. Sturgess and her husband is justly indebted
to Mariah Parish of the second part in the Sum of
One hundred and Fifty dollars lawful money of the
United States of America For which amount the aforesaid
Mrs R.A. Sturgess and William Sturgess her husband
have this day given their promissory note to the said
Mariah Parish for the Sum of One hundred and fifty
Dollars with Interest at 10 pr cent pr annum due and to be
paid on the 6th day of October AD 1883 Interest from
date. Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said par-
ties of the first part for the better Securing the payment
of the said Sum of money mentioned in said promissory 
note and also for and in Consideration of the Sum
of One Dollars to them in hand paid by the said
party of the second part at or before the ensealing
and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold
aliened remised released Conveyed and Confirmed
and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien
remise release Convey and Confirm unto the said
party of the second part and her heirs and assigns

       Alachua County } that I Mariah Parish the
Mortgagee in the within named do hereby for and in
Consideration of the sum of One Hundred
and fifty Eight Dollars transfer to Edwin
