from all loss and damages arising out of and from their having this day
signed said A. Knight & Cos Bond in a certain suit in Chancery in which an
Injunction is prayed by said A. Knight & Co & against the santafe Canal
Company said bond being for the sum of Two Thousand Dollars and subject
to the orders decrees and Judgements of the Courts. Then this obligation to be
void otherwise to be and remain in full force and virtue It is expressly
agreed and understood by and between the parties herein that until a forfeiture
herein the property is to remain in the possession and use of said A. Knight & Co

    W.S. Strickland to Geo W. Sparkman
                   "Mortgage"
State of Florida } Know all Men by these Presents That Whereas I W.A. Strickland 
Alachua County   } of the above State and County is indebted to G.W. Sparkman
of the same State and County in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars
which said sum is covenanted to be paid by my certain promissory note
bearing date March 17th 1882 and for the said sum of one hundred and
fifty dollars bearing interest at the rate of 10% per annum. Now therefore
to better secure the payment of said note and interest as expressed
therein I do by these presets, grant bargain sell and convey unto the
said Geo W. Sparkman heirs and assigns all my right, title interest
and claim of in and to all the crops of whatsoever species kind or des=
cription now growing or which may hereafter by planted grown or gathered
by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of any and all lands in
Alachua County Florida. Also the following described property to wit:
One Gray Horse named Gray and one Black horse named Bolivar, and
Twenty five head of Stock cattle Branded SF & Gopher and marked
crop & split in each ear and crop upper and underbit in one ear
Sharp & split in the other. To Have and to Hold all and singular the
crops lands and person property above bargained and sold unto the said
Geo W. Sparkman his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever
Provided Nevertheless that if the said W.A. Strickland should well and
truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Geo W. Sparkman the
