money is covenanted to be paid by our Certain promis-
sory note bearing even date herewith for the Sum of Two
hundred and Seventy dollars payable Twelve months
after date with interest from date at the rate of one per
cent per month. And whereas we are desirous of fully
and better securing the payment of said note and the sum
of money mentioned therein. Therefore know all men by these
presents that we William H. Johnson and O.B. Johnson
husband and wife for and in consideration of the prem-
ises and of the Sum of one Dollar to us in hand paid
have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain Sell and Convey unto the said Sarah
A. Stringfellow her heirs and assigns all the following des-
cribed piece parcel or tract of land to wit
Lots Numbered Eighteen (18) as designated on a map made
by W.C. Miller of the South half of Section Thirty Two
(32) Township Nine (9) Range Twenty (20) S & E said Map
being recorded in Deed Book "K" at page 203 and Con-
taining Ten acres more or less. Together with all and sin-
gular the tenements hereditaments and appurtenances there=
unto belonging, to have and to hold the Same unto the Said
Sarah A. Stringfellow in fee Simple absolute forever
Provided however and these presents are upon this express
condition that if the said William H. Johnson and O.B.
Johnson husband and wife their heirs or assigns shall
well and truly pay or cause to be paid the Sum of money
covenanted to be paid by said note together with the
interest to accrue thereon according to the legal tenor there-
of then this obligation shall become null and void else
to remain in full force and virtue. And it is hereby further
agreed and stipulated that the said William H. Johnson
and O.B. Johnson husband and wife will pay all
expenses costs and attorneys fees which the said Sarah
A. Stringfellow may be put to in enforcing the Collection
of the aforesaid sum of money covenanted to be paid by
said note by foreclosure or otherwise

affixed our seals on the 7th day of October AD 1882
