           Samuel L. Hawthorn to Francis J. Rabbeth
                       "Mortgage"                
State of Florida } Whereas I Samuel L. Hawthorn of the State and County  
Alachua County   } aforesaid am Justly indebted to Francis J. Rabbeth of
the city of Boston in the State of Massachusetts in the sum of
one Thousand ($100000) dollars which said sum of money is covenanted to
be paid by my certain promissory note bearing even date herewith
for the sum of One Thousand ($100000} dollars which said sum of One
Thousand ($100000} dollars which said promissory note and the sum of money
mentioned mentioned therein and payable three (3) years after the
thereof together with interest thereon at the rate of Ten (10%) per cent
per annum which said interest is agreed to be paid semiannually and
Whereas I am desirous of fully and better securing the payment of said
note and the sum of money mentioned therein together with the
interest as therein agreed to be paid Therefore know all men by
these presents that I the said Samuel L. Hawthorn for and in
consideration of the premises and of the sum of one dollar to me in
hand paid have granted bargained and sold and by these presents
do grant bargain Sell and convey unto the said Francis J. Rabbeth
his heirs and assigns all the following described piece parcel or
tract of land to wit Beginning at the South West corner of Section
Twenty six (26) Township Ten (10) south of Range (22) East
and running thence North along the line dividing sections 
Twenty six (26) and Twenty seven (27) Six chains and twenty seven 
links (627 } to corner Thence North 85° East Ten chains and sixty
links (1060} to Rail Road Ditch Beginning again at the place of
beginning run thence Next along the line dividing sections Twenty
seven (27) and Thirty four (34) Twenty chains to corner Thence South
