the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath
granted bargained sold aliened remised released Con-
veyed and Confirmed and by these presents doth grant
bargain sell alien remise release Convey and Confirm
unto the said party of the second part and to his heirs and 
assigns for ever all that Piece of land known as the West
half of the North East Quarter and the North West Quarter
of the South East Quarter of Section Twelve Township
Eight Range Eighteen and Said to Contain 120 acres of land
together with all and Singular the tenements hereditaments
and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise apper-
taining and the reversion and reversions remainder and rem-
ainders rents issues and profits thereof and also all the
estate right title interest claim and demand whatsoever
as well in law as in equity of the said parties of the first
part of in and to the Same. To have and to hold the above
granted and described premises with the appurtenances
unto the said party of the Second part his heirs and assigns
to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof for-
ever: Provided always and these presents are upon this
Condition that if the said parties of the first part shall
well and truly pay a Certain promissory note bearing
even date herewith and described as follows:
$300 00/100 On this first day of December AD 1883 we or either
of us promise to pay Mrs May or bearer three hundred dol-
lars with ten per Cent per annum Interest for value received
Newnansville Fla November 27th 1882 according to the
tenor of said note then these presents shall become void
and the estate hereby granted shall cease and utterly de-
termine. In witness Whereof the Said parties of the first
part to these presents has hereunto set their hand and
seal the day and year first above written

Alachua County   } Be it remembered that on this the 30th
day of Nov AD 1882 personally came before me an
acting Clerk Cir Court G.E. Smoke wife of S.D. Smoke
who upon an examination by me held separate and 
apart from her husband acknowledged that she did
make sign seal and deliver the foregoing deed of Mort-
gage and acknowledgement freely voluntarily and without any
Compulsion Constraint apprehension or fear of or from
her said husband. And that said Conveyance is intended
as a renunciation and relinquishment of all her right of
dower in the property thereby Conveyed
