 John E. Hill To Saml D. Smoke

Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents That
Whereas John E. Hill of the above State and County
is indebted to Saml D. Smoke of the Same State and
County in the sum of one hundred & Twenty five dollars
which said sum is Covenanted to be paid by a Certain
promissory note bearing date November 23rd 1882 and for the
said Sum of one hundred & Twenty five dollars bearing interest
at the rate of Twelve per cent pr ^annum^
Now therefore to better secure the payment of said note and
interest as expressed therin I do by these presents grant
bargain sell and convey unto the said Saml D. Smoke his
heirs and assigns all my right title interest and claim of in
and to all the Crops whatsoever species kind or description
now growing or which may hereafter be planted grown or
gathered by me or for me or for my benefit on or off of
any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also the
following described property to wit: One Sorrel mule
about 8 or 10 years old. To have and to hold all and Sin-
gular the Crops lands and personal property above bargained
and sold unto the said Saml D. Smoke his heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever. Provided nevertheless
that if the said John E. Hill should well and truly pay
or cause to be paid unto the Said Saml D. Smoke
