the full amount of said note together with the in-
terest according to its tenor and effect then this in=
strument to be void else to remain in full force and virtue
And it is hereby further agreed that should it become
necessary to enforce this instrument by legal proceedings
the said John E. Hill will pay therefore all attorneys fees
Charges and expenses.

                 } Know all men by these Presents
That whereas Saml Williams of the above State
and County is indebted to Saml D. Smoke of the
Same State and County in the Sum of One hun-
dred & fifty dollars which said sum is Cov-
enanted to be paid by a certain promissory note
bearing date November 23rd 1882 and for the Said
Sum of One hundred & fifty dollars bearing interest
at the rate of Twelve pr cent pr annum after Maturity
Now therefore to better secure the payment of said note
and interest as expressed therein I do by these
presents grant bargain Sell and convey unto the Said
