Sett Brown To Benj Rush
          "Mortgage"
State of Florida }
Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents That whereas
Sett Brown of the above State and County is indebted to Benjamin Rush
of the Same State and County in the sum of Eight Hundred dollars
dollars which said sum is covenanted to be paid by a Certain
promissory note bearing date November 19th 1882 and for the said Sum
of Eight Hundred dollars bearing interest at the rate of 12 per Cent
per annum. Now therefore to better secure the payment of Said note and
interest as expressed therein I do by these presents grant bargain Sell
and Convey unto the said Benjamin Rush his heirs and assigns all
my rights title interest and claim of in and to all the crops of
whatsoever species kind or description now growing or which may
hereafter be planted grown or gathered by me or for my bene-
fit on or off of any and all lands in Alachua County Florida. Also
the following described property to wit" One mule bay color mare mule
about ten years old and known by the name of mag purchased by
me of Charley Haile - One grey mare about 3 or 4 years old and
raised by myself Six head Cattle marked one smoothe crop in
one year but no brand- To have and to hold all and
Singular the Crops lands and personal property above bargained
and sold unto the said Benjamin Rush his heirs executors
administrators and assigns forever Provided nevertheless
that if the said Sett Brown Should well and truly pay or
cause to be paid unto the said Benjamin Rush the full amount of
said note together with the interest according to the tenor and
effect then this instrument to be void else to remain in full
force and virtue. And it is hereby further agreed that
Should it become necessary to enforce this instrument by
legal proceedings the said Sett Brown will pay therefor
all attorneys fees Charges and expenses
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my
Seal this 29th day of November AD 1882
