This Indenture Made the Thirteenth day of November in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty two Between Charles S. Snowdon and E.L. Snow-
den partners doing business under the firm name
and Style of E.L. Snowden & Company of Lake City
Columbia County Florida parties of the first part
and James J. Daniels of the City of Jacksonville County
of Duval and State of Florida party of the 
Second part. Whereas the said parties of the first
part are justly indebted to James J. Daniels party of the
Second part in the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred
Dollars lawful money of the United States of America
as evidenced by their Certain promissory note in writing
in words and figures of following to wit
$150000                    November 13th 1882
        Twelve months after date we or either of us
promise to pay to the Order of James J. Daniels the Sum
of One Thousand Five hundred Dollars at the banking
house of Ambler Marvin and Stockton Jacksonville Florida
With interest payable quarterly until paid at the rate of
8 per Cent per Annum for Value received

Now this indenture Witnesseth That the said parties of the
first part for the better Securing the payment of
the Said Sum of money mentioned in said promissory
Note with the interest to accrue thereon and also for
and in consideration of the Sum of Five dollars to them
in hand paid by the said party of the second part
at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the
receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted
bargained sold aliened remised released Conveyed and
Confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell
alien remise release convey and confirm unto the
Said party of the Second part and his heirs and
