do hereby bargain sell deliver and convey unto the
said Charles W. Bauknight merchant the following
peoperty to wit: Eight head of cows, and calves marked
two slits in one ear, over bit and smothe crop in
the other Branded S.B. one sorrel mare, named Nellie
about Eight years old one Bay mare colt name
Daisey about three years old, and all the growing
crop of any kind, planted and made by us or through
us for the year Eighteen hundred and Eighty three. To
have and to hold the said described property unto
Charles W. Bauknight his heirs and assigns in fee
simple forever, as his and their absolute property.
Provided Nevertheless that the above is considered in
the nature of a mortgage, for the purpose of securing
the payment of one hundred dollars to us in hand paid
this day, for the purpose of enabling us to plant and
cultivate the within Mortgaged crop, to be made by
us during the year eighteen hundred and Eighty three
Now if we shall well and truly pay said amount
to Charles W. Bauknight Merchant on the first day of
    AD 1884, then this to be null and void else to
remain in full force and virtue, and in default of said
payment, or the payment of any other indebtedness
incurred by us, with the said Chatles W. Bauknight
Merchant on demand made by him for the payment as
the time above specified he is hereby authorized to depose
of the within mortgaged cows calves mare colt and
and crop and if any thing remaining after the date of
same after the payment of said debt and all expenses
incurred in said sale to return the balance to us and the
said Charles W. Bauknight may at his pleasure take
and remove said property and may enter any building
or premises of the within mortgagors for that purpose and
we do hereby waive the benefit of the homestead and
exemption laws of the State of Florida and any other
legal right we may avail ourselves of
