Alachua County   } Know all men by these presents
that I Abe Varnes of Alachua County State of Florida
for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to
Me in hand paid by (the said) John McAllister of the
State and County aforesaid, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, as well as to secure the payment
of my promissory Note Bearing date Dec fifteenth
AD 1882, for the sum of one hundred & Twelve
00/100 Dols -- & made payable to John McAllister or
Bearer in the following installments Thirteen Doll
to be paid on The 15th of each month commencing The
15th of Jany 1883, & continuing until the 15thof Aug 1883
and the bal Eight Doll to be paid on the 15th of
Sept - 1883, And to secure the payment of the above
described note I do hereby Mortgage sell aline
and convey in accordance with the laws of the
State of Florida now in existance with the said
John McAllister his heirs and assigns the following
described property to wit: One sorrel mare named
"Daisy" about seven years old & known as the Richard
Robinson or Thos W. Zetrouer Mare which property I
declair is Mine in my own right & in my possession
and against which there is no Judgement now Mort-
gage lein, nor lein for unpaid purchase money nor
homestead nor exemption lein nor other incumbrance
As head of my family I hereby waive and announce
all of my rights and privileges under the Homestead and
exemption Laws of this State as far as the above descr-
ibed property is concerned until the debt that is Mortgaged
to secure shall have been paid in full including all
costs charges & commissions and interest at 10% per
ct per annum should I fail to pay the above
named note at maturity and the holder place the
same in the hands of an attorney for collection by reason
thereof I hereby agree to pay Ten pr ct attorneys cost & in
case of suit or sale of the mortgaged property to pay
in addition all costs & expenses that may be incurred &
I hereby authorize the holders of this mortgage to foreclose the
same in the usual manner or as the holder may see
fit by taking hold of the mortgage property and selling
all or any portion thereof either at Public or private sale
upon giving Ten (10) days notice in writing to me the
same being left at my usual place or residence of their
intention to sell, & such other notice as they may deem
proper & I constitute the said John McAllister or his assigns
my attorney to pass a good and sufficient Title to such
property upon making such sale
