and who executed the foregoing mortgage and acknowledged
that he executed same for the purpose therein expressed where-

John W. Watson & Wife to Charles W. Bauknight
"Mortgage"
State of Florida }
Alachua County } Know all men by these presents that
I John W. Watson of the County of Alachua and State of Florida
for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred
and ten dollars ($11000) to me in hand paid by Charles W.
Bauknight Merchant of the Town of Archer County and
State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowled
ge have this day bargained sold and delivered and by these
presents do hereby bargain sell deliver and convey unto the
said Charles W. Bauknight merchant one sorrel horse
about three years old Blaze face twenty head of
cattle more or less marked crop and uper bit in one ear
staple fork in the other Branded I.X.C to have and to hold
the said described property in fee simple forever. The
condition of this obligation is considered in the nature of a mortgage
for the purpose of receiving the payment of one hundred and
ten dollars to Charles W. Bauknight Merchant on the first
day of November AD 1883, said money this day advanced
for the purpose of enabling me to make a crop for the year
1883. Now if I shall well and truly pay to Charles W.
Bauknight Merchant his heirs or assigns the said amount
due as specified then this to be null and void else to remain
in full force and virtue and in default of the payment when
due Charles W. Bauknight is hereby authorized to take peaceable
possession of the within described property and make sale
thereof to satisfy said amount In witness whereof I John
W. Watson and my wife Sarah Watson who hereby relinquishes
all right title or interest to the within property and both
do hereby waive the benefit of the homestead laws of the State
of Florida and do hereby waive any and all legal benefits
Have hereunto affixed our hands and seals this the 3d
day of January AD 1883
