 Hattie A. Veich and W.H. Veich to Col W.A. Colclough et al
               "Mortgage"
State of Florida }
Alachua County   } This Indenture made this 5th day of
January AD 1883, between Mrs Hattie A. Veich and W.H.
Veich her husband who joins on this deed of Mortgage for
the purpose of ratifying and confirming the act of his said
wife of the first part and Col W.A. Colclough Mrs O.C. Colclough
and Charles A. Colclough of the second part all of the State and
County aforesaid witnesseth that the said parties of the first
part for and in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred
dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted
bargained sold conveyed released and by these presents do
grant bargain sell    convey and release unto the said parties
of the second part all that certain lot tract piece or parcel
of land lying and being situate in the State and County
aforesaid in section nine (9) Township Ten (10) south Range
Twenty (20) East particularly described as follows to wit Begin-
ning at a point which is located Seventy (70) feet north of and
from the center of the "Florida Southern Railway" Track
which point is situated six (6) chains and Ten (10) links
Westerly from where the said Railway track crosses the run
of sweet water Branch and running thence in a westerly
direction along a line parallel to and Twenty 20 feet from
the center of said Railway Track Nineteen chains (19) and
Ninty (90) links to a stake thence north Forty two (42°)
degrees East sixteen (16) chains to the edge of the Public Road lead
ing from Gainesville to Micanopy thereon south Seventy three and
a half (73 1/2°) degrees East  Fourteen (14) chains and seventy two (72)
links to the point of beginning, Containing by estimation Twelve
Acres of land more or less Together with all the rights privaledges
and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise apperta-
ining To have and to hold the same unto the said parties
of the second part and their heirs executors administrators
and assigns forever in fee simple absolute, the condition of
this conveyance is such that whereas the said parties of the
first part have this day made their certain five joint and
several promissory notes bearing even date herewith and bearing
interest at the rate of Eight per cent per annum each for the sum
of Two Hundred Forty ($24000) dollars payable respectively
in one two three four and five years after the date
thereof making a sum total of Twelve hundred (120000)

                          of the Sum of Money hereby Secured I hereby Cancel and
